Erin Kolb, NP

Nurse Practioner

I specialize in the treatment of mast cell activation disorders (MCAD)/mast cell disease (MCD) at AIANE. My passion is to bring hope and encouragement to people dealing with the complexities of systemic mastocytosis (SM), cutaneous mastocytosis (CM), mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), hereditary alpha tryptasemia (HAT), etc. I strive to treat patients compassionately and holistically according to current guidelines, while also incorporating my experience with various strategies, such as Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DNRS). In my own life and with many patients, I have seen neural retraining programs be effective tools when combined with medical treatments to help people decrease sensitivities (fragrances/odors, foods, light, sound, temperature, and other triggers) and gain back overall health and symptom stability.

I bring first-hand experience of the extreme difficulties that can be associated with mast cell disease because I have suffered with secondary MCAS and dysautonomia. I remember my very real struggles with physical health, depression, and anxiety as I look back at my time of being severely ill with young children for whom I so often couldn’t provide care. I am grateful for the support from my family, friends, faith community and caring providers. Dr. Jonathan Bayuk and AIANE staff were some of those caring providers, so I feel honored and thankful to be a part of the AIANE team since March of 2020.

Further interests include integrative medicine and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for the treatment of mast cell disease, allergies, asthma, and atopic dermatitis- especially as exemplified by Dr. Xiu-Min Li and her research lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.
